Sushi Roku isn't your traditional sushi spot--it's more of an upscale place that's great for a date night or special occasion. The restaurant recently had its grand reopening, and the space is very modern and aesthetically pleasing, with a dim, romantic vibe. I actually dined here twice in one week. While the food was good, I felt like it was a bit pricey for what you get. Both times, I left satisfied but not really full. One surprisingly good item we had was the Brussel sprout chips--definitely worth trying! The rolls and nigiri were fresh, and the service was top-notch. They even gave us a special anniversary dessert, which was a nice touch. Overall, it's a solid spot for celebrating or enjoying a nice date night. Just keep in mind that the portions are on the smaller side, so you might end up spending a bit more, but the ambiance and service make it worthwhile.

Grand re-opening was Thursday 9/26/24 filled with fun/laughter and of course prime sushi. It was eventful night meeting and chatting with Eiji/Rafi. They always make you feel part of the IDG family. See you very soon!!

Good food and nice out door area to be with my dog. We were looking for a place with sushi but also I was craving fried food, I found the perfect place and they were so nice to my dog and made me feel welcome with them.

Sushi Roku exceeded my expectations. Reservations were easily made over open table for Friday early evening. We were greeted by a hostess who took us to our table where we were served by Lance. He answered all of our questions and was attentive throughout our meal. The food was amazing, we could truly taste the quality of the fish. The sushi was dressed perfectly as was the roll we ordered. The restaurant is being renovated with the dining area just about complete with a very modern aesthetic.

We love this place! Their food here is amazing and their staffs are friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is great. This is me and my husband's favorite go to for special occasions. Our server today was Gary and he was very attentive! We didn't have to ask him for drink refills, he was constantly making sure we were good. We appreciate that kind of service, it definitely makes restaurants 100 times better and stand out more than others. They even made us one of their new dessert addition which is cotton candy and it has cheesecake inside! It was delicious. Thank you Sushi Roku staff and especially Gary for providing such amazing service. We truly appreciate it and we had a wonderful time. We will definitely keep coming here and recommend you to family and friends! :)

They're currently undergoing some construction, so be aware. But overall, we still had a great experience and they offered 20% off of everyone's check because of the construction. It wasn't intrusive construction, just less aesthetically pleasing with some bar restrictions. I've been before when everything was up and running like normal, so I'm basing my review off of both experiences. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The first time I went, the vibes were zen, this most recent time the music was upbeat and urban. So in terms of ambience, the vibes seem to be a little inconsistent. Food: Japanese Fried Chicken 9/10 Tempura Popcorn Shrimp 10/10 Miso Chilean Seabass 10/10 Filet and mashed potatoes 8/10 Cocktails 8/10

Walked in for restaurant week and it looks like they have ongoing construction at the moment, so they were running a 20% discount during this time. I've been here once before but it was a while back, and it seems they've seen made adjustments. I was seated immediately without a reservation which was nice, and the service was really great. I started with an avocado eel roll and the deluxe sushi platter for the main. The seating area by the sushi bar was very nice and dimly lit which gave it classy ambiance. While the sushi was good, it didn't seem as put together as relatively cheaper places because of portioning, taste and the way the rolls were put together. (Grabbing pieces of the roll was hard because the sushi rice kept coming apart) I still enjoyed the experience but deluxe sushi plate had me expecting more "deluxe" out of it, as you can see in the picture, which pretty much sums up my experience here. Not bad!

Although I live on the Westside, I had a meeting in Pasadena so I decided to host at Sushi Roku in Miller Alley. I am amazed by the consistently excellent experience I have at any Sushi Roku location (or any IDG restaurant including BOA, Katana, etc.) Whether it's Sushi Roku Pasadena, Sunset, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Vegas or even Austin TX, you get the same world class hospitality, high quality ingredients, inventive food and beverage program, and cool ambience more reminiscent of a high end club than a restaurant. We had a wide array of dishes, kind of like a surf and turf menu, because in addition to sushi they offer some of the signature items found at other IDG restaurants like robata skewers from Katana and BOA rib eye steak. Started with the shishito peppers, unique Brussels sprouts chips with truffle oil, then on to yellowtail carpaccio, lamb chops and Chilean sea bass robata, a sushi course of salmon, albacore and amberjack, chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. Cocktails are just as good and innovative, including the refreshing Zen Garden mocktail for teetotalers, or Japanese beer and wine. Manager Jessica and server Liana took care of us all night with genuine hospitality and kindness. Glad to have such a great option the next time I'm in Pasadena.

Roku is awesome! It's such a tranquil environment but it can get a little loud. The fish is fresh and the food had great flavor, my fav being the miso eggplant. The servers are very attentive and easy to talk to; full of suggestions. There is a parking garage right behind the building and its about 10-15$ if you enter after 6-7pm.

Took my brother to this Sushi Roku location for his birthday and the experience was just as incredible as the Vegas and Newport Sushi Roku locations I tend to frequent! First of all the ambiance at this location is beautiful. The service was also excellent. We mostly stuck to the rolls, sushi, and sashimi that I typically order at other Sushi Roku locations, which did not disappoint. Definitely the stars of the meal were the wagyu sushi, and toro sushi. Although on the pricier side of the menu, you can't go wrong ordering these two! The toro is like butter and the quality of the wagyu is amazing. For rolls, we ordered the scallop roll, spicy tuna roll, Katana roll, and White Lotus roll. Honestly, the simple spicy scallop roll is my favorite... so simple, but the scallops have such a unique texture and buttery flavor. The White Lotus was my other favorite roll. The crispy onions and wasabi truffle soy makes this roll super unique. I'll definitely be back to this location in the future!
